GRADUATE COURSE ANNOUNCEMENT

Teachers will explore the use of online tools that support student learning, collaboration, and communication that extends beyond classroom walls. They will also become knowledgeable about curricular best practices and skills as they fit into the K- 12 classroom. 

Emphasis is given to cloud computing and collaborative technologies for a digital age school. GSuite for Education as well as digital based learning theories will be explored. Educators will be exposed to many of the GSuite Applications as well as create a final project and presentation of how they will use the tools in the classroom setting. Cr. 3 M

Google Tools for Creativity and Innovation

Tonight I co-moderated my first Twitter chat - #gafechat with @LISDTechie on the topic of Google Tools for Creativity and Innovation. It's quite an experience to moderate as you must pay attention to the questions, the people, and the topics. Kelly is incredibly organized and made the process very manageable. I learned to schedule my questions ahead of time and have my links ready to go. It's best to use TweetDeck as the tool to keep track of the conversation. Kelly's GafeChat website has everything you need to learn how to participate in the chat. She also archives the conversation so you can go back and do more learning. I am definitely doing this again!

#gafechat May 5, 2015 Creativity and Innovation

T4IE at Tilton Academy

You and your fellow educators are invited to Google 'Summer Camp' being offered at Tilton School.  

The real conference name is Technology 4 Innovation in Education Conference

 (T4IE) but it's like 'summer camp' because onsite lodging (in one of the dorms) is an option and it is so incredibly fun!    The curriculum is very well planned and focused on outcomes. 

Highlights include:

• Choose your Google Apps track (beginner/advanced but also switch throughout to meet your needs.
• Classroom application/Edu Focus (not just the app)
• Set up your Paperless Classroom to start next year!
• Dinner (evening of day one)
• Make it Take it ~ Day 2 allows for project work time
• On campus housing available for only $50 (it is awesome).

There will also be a Google Pre~certification Training on day three for admins and trainers.  If you want to become 'certified' and need that extra boost, consider one of these sessions.  You will leave ready to take the exams and submit your application(s).

Cloud Camp New England

Groton- Dunstable Regional HS was the venue for Cloud Camp New England on Saturday, November 9, 2013. It was a lovely venue, and attended by a wonderful group with loads of energy! I loved the size of the group. It's always fun to meet teachers who are implementing Google Apps for Ed in their schools. Thanks to Andy, Audra, Julie, and Kelly, the crack IT team at the school, for hosting this event!

July 11th at UNH Manchester

This day long event with be chock full of fun and inspiration for educators, administrators and like minded professionals looking to leverage the cloud! This is a full day of sessions with Google Apps Certified Teachers, Trainers and Experienced Professionals that will facilitate and lead collaboration and sharing.

This will be an 'interactive' day.  Plan to 'get going' or 'level up' whether you are new to Google or a seasoned Googler looking to further your pursuit in the cloud.

Google Boot Camp New Hampshire

Last week I had the opportunity to work with some terrific educators and enthusiastic teachers in the State of New Hampshire. Kern Kelley, Richard Byrne, Allison Mollica and I traveled to 4 venues around the state sharing the EdTech Team's Google Apps for Education New Hampshire Boot Camp.

This is an interesting professional development model and worth taking a look at. The BootCamp was a part of the New Hampshire Digital Resources Consortium. Using the train the trainer model, participants are required to give workshops when they get back to their districts and document them at the website. They can also take the Google Apps for Education Certified Trainer tests. If they take them by a certain date, they are reimbursed. Thanks to Allison for organizing the week and I look forward to learning more from New Hampshire as they further develop the Consortium.
