EdTechTeam Student Summit

I had the opportunity to join the team of the Nokomis Tech Sherpas and Kern Kelly for a Student Summit in Dallastown, PA. The learners that attended were in Grade 6. They had 4 sessions and rotated through them. The sessions were on Creating with Code, Coding with Drones, Create your own Virtual World and All About You - Coding in Google Spreadsheets.

I also had a tutorial on CoSpaces and TinkerCad from the Sherpas and learned about drones that can show you where they are going through a virtual reality headset. Amazing!

Thanks to our hosts for sharing their beautiful school with us and for arranging an amazing learning experience for their students.

Reading for November 27, 2013 Coding the Curriculum: How High Schools Are Reprogramming Their Classes

There are no lockers in the hallways at Beaver Country Day School. Instead, backpacks and tote bags line either side of the floor while students step over them during the mid-morning rush to class. Nearly everyone is carrying a laptop.
