Fresh Look Fridays -- Web 2.0 Library | Blog
"As with many of my recent Fresh Look Fridays posts, this one comes courtesy of a valuable member of my PLN. Meet Melina (@MelinaAkins) -- a fan-TAB-u-lous teacher in the Calgary area whom I've had the pleasure of not only conversing with online, but also in the more traditional face-to-face setting. Most recently, we spent some time chatting at the Calgary Teachers' Convention, where Melina shared a WONDERFUL site that I am now sharing with you!
Web 2 is essentially a Web 2.0 Tools Library, broken down first into 3 types of activities, and then with TONS of information, ideas, instructional videos on usage, etc. Simply choose one of the three options on the home page, and voila! An instant list of applicable Web 2.0 tools!" -
Personal Learning Networks for Professional Learning Communities PLCs - EdTechTeam
"Personal learning is a foundation of any successful PLC. Learn to build your own Personal Learning Network (PLN) to support your own professional development and diffuse innovation within your PLC.
Personal learning is one of the foundations of a successful PLC - and an element of any successful organizational change effort. This session focuses on tools that can be used by any member of a PLC to build their own Personal Learning Network (PLN), which can not only support their own professional development but can also be an efficient means of diffusing innovation within the PLC. Learn to connect with a community of like minded professionals, make contributions, have conversations, and make requests in your times of need. Powerful free tools and social media such as Twitter and Ning make this possible for your PLC. Online resources for the session include links to each tool, real-world examples, and screencasts illustrating key elements of the session for later reference." -
