From the Stone Age, Bronze Age, and Iron Age to more recent periods dominated by plastics and silicon, materials have defined the progression of humankind. Now, we are once again poised on the verge of a materials revolution, as researchers around the globe push the boundaries further than ever before, using biology and chemistry to imbue materials with new qualities that are expanding our technological frontiers.
Welcome to a website on Western Expansion. This site is put together by 8th grade students at Mountain Ridge Middle School. Students will be given a topic to research. They can work with a partner or they can work by themselves. If you work with a partner, be sure to share the responsibility. Once students have gathered sufficient information from at least 3 different resources, they will add their information to a Google Doc so that their peers can provide feedback. The purpose of the feedback is to help their peers perfect their information.
